1Read & Wonder
The Bible is God's Word.
It teaches me how to know, love, and follow God.
The Bible has an Old Testament and a New Testament. The New Testament tells us about Jesus' life, teaching, death and Resurrection, and about His Church.
A child may listen while a grown-up reads, follow along, look at pictures, or pause. Sunday school isn't just on Sundays.
2Bible Detective
Follow the clues.
- Open the Bible's table of contents and find the book.
- Find the chapter number, then the smaller verse number.
- Look up John 3:16, Psalm 119:105, and 2 Timothy 3:16.
Orthodox Bible note: Some Orthodox Bibles label Psalm 119:105 as Psalm 118:105. Look for the words about a lamp and a path.
Listen, point, speak, draw, or write one thing you learned. There is no race, and no one has to read alone.
3Make & Practice
Find, remember, and love.
- Find the four Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
- Practice this short memory line: “All Scripture is inspired by God.” It is the beginning of 2 Timothy 3:16.
- Choose one loving action, such as including someone who is alone.
Kindness never means accepting harm. A child may step away and ask a trusted adult for help.
4Family Challenge
Try it together this week.
Read or listen to the Bible with a grown-up one, two, or three or more times this week. One time is a good start.
